Donte Felder

Donte Felder is a Golden Apple Award-winning teacher who has served Seattle Public Schools since 1998. A community leader and organizer, he founded the Orca Drama Club, Columbia City Youth Theater Group, South End Stories, and now Next Hero Up, which will provide extracurricular writing, scholarships, theater, and film programs for children of all ages. His passion is bringing students together with local nonprofit organizations to provide access to opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable. In 2005, Mr. Felder was awarded the Washington Education Association’s Humanitarian Award for his play, The First Day, a science fiction allegory about Brown versus the Board of Education that explores race relations.
